A 1993 National Award Winner. This is the second in the publisher's series, following SECRETS IN YELLOWSTONE & GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARKS (National Photographic Collection, 1990). It is primarily a book of photographs of the geological formations & fauna & flora of these three National Parks. There is an introductory section to each park, which tells the "geological story" & the "history of humans." Each image is accompanied by the photographer's name, along with technical details - film, lens, speed, etc. - which will be of interest to camera fans. The author is a professional wildlife photographer & many of the photos are hers.
