Book Drives for Better Lives

Working with students and bookstore managers like you, Better World Books has administered thousands of textbook drives at 1,600 colleges and universities. As a team, we have given new life to old books previously destined for dumpsters or destruction. Together, we are reducing poverty by increasing literacy.

If you are a first-timer, here a few reasons why you should consider running a campus book drive with Better World Books.

Totally Turnkey – Better World Books makes it easy to plan and run a successful book drive. Your Regional Director will provide start-to-finish guidance, along with marketing materials, collection and shipping boxes, and paid shipping arranged via online portal. Moreover, you will incur zero out-of-pocket expenses.

Fundraising – Raise money for your service organization, fraternity or sorority chapter by running a Better World Books campus textbook drive. We pay your group for each qualifying book, and the funding quickly adds up. As of March 2008, Better World Books has contributed more than $1 million to campus organizations that have run campus book drives.

Impact – Your book drive will generate a tangible social impact in terms of books collected, funding generated for your designated non-profit literacy program, and their increased their ability to combat the illiteracy pandemic.

Four Potential Beneficiaries– You can direct your drive’s proceeds to one of four highly regarded literacy-focused non-profits, each serving a different area of the world.

New Promotional Tools – To help build awareness for your book drive, we have developed press releases and created new posters printed using environmentally friendly materials, in a carbon-neutral process.
