Library Partners

Since the program's inception in 2004, over 1,400 libraries across the United States have signed on with Better World Books. Libraries that partner with Better World Books get the convenience of a no cost, simple program to help them deal with their weeded and donated books. In turn, our library partners earn much needed funds from their books while helping supporting literacy around the world.

	American Library Association The ALA Constitution states the purpose of ALA as, "The object of the American Library Association shall be to promote library service and librarianship." The stated mission is, "To provide leadership for the development, promotion and improvement of library and information services and the profession of librarianship in order to enhance learning and ensure access to information for all."
	Public Library Association The Public Library Association (PLA), with more than 11,000 members is one of the fastest growing divisions of the American Library Association (ALA), the oldest and largest library association in the world. PLA's core purpose is to strengthen public libraries and their contribution to the communities they serve. Founded in 1944, PLA is a member-driven organization that exists to provide a diverse program of communication, publication, advocacy, continuing education, and programming for its members and others interested in the advancement of public library service.
	Friends of Libraries USA The mission of FOLUSA is to motivate and support state and local library support groups across the country in their efforts to preserve and strengthen libraries, and to create awareness and appreciation of library services.
	New Orleans Public Library After we witnessed the horrible power of Hurricane Katrina, Better World Books saw a great opportunity to do what we do best: collect and sell books to help rebuild the New Orleans Public Library. Since we began, Better World Books has raised over $100,000 for the New Orleans Public Library Foundation.
