You probably know that we partner with major non-profit groups like Room to Read and Books for Africa. But did you know we also partner with local, community-focused groups?
Got a “Game Changing” idea that advances literacy in your community? Well, if you want to make it happen, we want to make it possible.
Our LEAP Grants (Literacy and Education in Action Program), inspired by the California State Library’s “Pitch an Idea” program, is intended to compile a wide range of local projects and fund the ones that have the biggest bang for the buck.
Speaking of which, here are the details: $15,000 in funding is available, and the maximum grant amount
per project is $7,500. There will be at least two winners — one voted on by our community of customers and fans, a second picked by Better World Books.
If you’re passionate about literacy around your part of town, you can download the application form on this page, complete it, and return it according to the instructions on the form. All applications are due by April 5th at 4pm ET.
During the Selection Period, applicants may be contacted by Better World Books for interviews or to provide additional project details as part of the evaluation process. If your project goes on to become one of the finalists, we will also contact you for photos and videos of the literacy project that we can post as part of the public voting phase.
