The crowd on the ice was estimated at about 20,000 people with 50% of them kids! At 7.8km (5 miles) long the Ottawa Rideau Canal Skateway is the longest outdoor ice rink in the world. A round trip is 15.6km (10 miles) and it is a fantastic way to get outdoor exercise and fresh air in the winter time. The Ottawa Winterlude Festival is a very popular with single people, couples, and especially families with children of all ages. The Winterlude pictures capture all of this fun and adventure. If your family has children make sure to bring them with you!
