Better World Books and Alibris Join Forces to Bring More Used Books to a Wider Audience

ATLANTA, GA (September 19, 2009) - Better World Books announces today its partnership with Alibris, the online marketplace for independent sellers of new and used books. The partnership makes the inventory of Alibris' extensive network of booksellers available through the www.BetterWorldBooks.com website, expanding Better World Books consumers' choices to more titles than ever before. Better World Books, a for-profit venture, collects and sells new and used books online, donating a percentage of each sale to help fund literacy initiatives worldwide.

"Alibris and Better World Books have a shared vision when it comes to finding new homes for used books," said Brian Elliott, President and CEO of Alibris. "By partnering with Better World Books, we have the opportunity to attract even more people to the vast selection of titles offered by our 12,000 independent booksellers, bringing books to even more book lovers around the world."

The addition draws on Alibris' marketplace of 100 million used, new, and out-of-print books, combining a majority of its inventory with the three million books available in Better World's Mishawaka, Indiana warehouse. Like every other book purchased from Better World, titles sold from one of Alibris' booksellers fund high-impact literacy programs in the USA and around the world. Funding benefits Better World Books' non-profit literacy partners including the National Center for Family Literacy, Books for Africa, Invisible Children, Room to Read and Worldfund.

"Alibris is well-known and respected throughout the used book industry, and it is a pleasure to work alongside them," David Murphy, CEO of Better World Books said. "We're very happy to help our customers and the Alibris booksellers come together for an even more far-reaching exchange of used books."
