Product Description
After a hectic first year of graduate school and working, Myella McBride just needs a release and to let off some steam, but little does she know across the room destiny could await in the form of the battleship of masculinity, parting the sea of people and making his way towards her. Mya's workload for her masters in English literature while teaching overloaded sections of English composition has left her wanting and on the verge of burning out. At the persistence of her free-spirited best friend, she decides to take advantage of Memorial Day weekend, the first collective opportunity around Chi-Town to shed the cold weather frocks and don something crazy, sexy, and cool, before she retreats to the pseudo security of her books. All she is looking for is some fun and a little harmless flirting with the background of good music to groove to, because unlike her friend, she does not believe the panacea to everything is a man. Besides everyone knows you cannot meet a good, quality man at the club. In walks Trévon Threat, all-star pro linebacker, charming, handsome, and intelligent. This intriguing modern day gladiator blows her mind and all her preconceived notions about the spoiled self-indulgent conceited athlete. This man with the intimidating name and ferocious occupation spawns emotions and awakens feelings she didn't realize she was capable of feeling. The commonality of past sorrows and mutual interest, along with preternatural chemistry forms a solid, special bond of friendship that grows into more. A painful past, with a mentally and emotionally abusive mother and a failed four-year long-distance relationship with an unfaithful boyfriend, has left her with steamer trunks of suppressed baggage. When Mya initially avoids the pitfalls of this baggage and overcomes her fears, she is able really to give her heart for the first time. A dream romance develops between the two friends, but is friendship, romance, and love enough for them to maneuver through the sexual politics of a new relationship and find their way back together, while combating an onslaught of jealousy, envy, insecurity, temptation, and miscommunication, which is only compounded by Tré's high-profile career and outside foes?

(4.5 stars) Primordial Counterpart Nov 9, 2007 (7 of 7 found this helpful)
Myella McBride, known affectionately as Mya to her close friends and family, is all work with very little time to play games when it comes to the opposite sex. Poised, educated, and the poster child for sophistication, don't be fooled by the little suburban chick, cause she has an inner sista girl that you don't want to meet. She and her best friend, Nachelle, decide to set off the beginning of summer by partying in Chi-town. While Mia agrees to go, she's doubtful that she'll meet anyone worth remembering.
Tre the Threat, the Chicago Bears linebacker, and his boy Jay are out enjoying the city of winds' nightlife. Unlike others who are in the lime light, Tre is a conscientious brother who uses his resources and time in order to help others. While video vixens and model chicks may be vying for his time, Tre ain't about the skeeze.
Sparks fly as the interception blitzes into an unyielding friendship. While it's apparent to those around them that what they have is dynamic, they both fight to maintain their friendship. When the two can no longer deny what's visible, flags on the field cause them to fumble. Will they be able to recover, or are they willing to bench the inevitable?
I love to read period. But those books that rep for my city, they really do something to me. I was a little stumped when I realized Mia A. Moore was doing the timeless fairy tale, but I'm pleased to announce that it was peppered with her own unique style. But I do need real sex in a book. Tonight I Give In is a great story and I'm looking forward to Mia A. Moore's sophomore release.

Love, Lust, Passion, Etc Jul 19, 2007 (6 of 6 found this helpful)
I love how Mia Moore puts it down in her debut novel "Tonight I Give In". She introduces us to Mya and Trevon. Mya to me seemed like she wanted love but was scared of it and Trevon is every womens' dream man. This story will have you crying , hoping, wishing and laughing as Mya and Trevon go through their escapades.
Great job Mia! Many Blessings to you! (wink)

I COULD NOT PUT THIS BOOK DOWN! Jul 6, 2007 (6 of 6 found this helpful)
I love romance novels and found out about this book through MySpace. Mia A. Moore put her foot and everything else in this book. I like how it has many of the traditional parts of romance, like some fantasy and predictable elements readers of romance love and expect, but that she knew when to go away from how some regular romances would present this story and KEPT IT REAL, TOO. The book actually had a great plot and great story. It was sweet and romantic, yet hot and edgy. I was not just reading for the love scenes like I find myself doing with some romances, but the love scenes were all that, classy and sexy. It was so descriptive that I felt kind of like I was there as they made love. I liked the age she made Myella, because she was old enough to have an idea of what she wanted out of life, yet young enough not to be sour on love or life. Tre is the man every woman wants, but not so much where he isn't believable. I read someone said the characters were captivating and someone else said they feel in love with them. I can totally relate; they seemed real. They reacted and responded like people you could know. I wanted them to get together, be together, and stay together, and was truly interested in their lives and how it turned out. On Mia's MySpace bio it says her "goal is to make you laugh, cry, think, and believe." Well, I did it all! It says she is working on her next novel on the back of her book. I am waiting; please don't leave me waiting too long. GET THIS BOOK!

Doesn't Always Pay to Wait May 28, 2008 (3 of 3 found this helpful)
You're probably thinking I'm about to say something negative about the story but you'd be wrong. For some reason it took me a long time to purchase this book because after reading the reviews, I thought it would be boring but I'm glad to say that I couldn'tve been more wrong! Even after I received it, I flipped through the pages and saw that there was more paragraphs than dialogue, I judged it and sat it on my nightstand. When I finally picked it it up, I was halfway through the story before I could think to realize how much I was into Tre & Mya's life. This was an excellent, excellent read and I can't wait to get my hands on the next book that Ms. Moore writes. I love being wrong.
