  • Rating A Must Read for any Business Owner, Manager, Employee or Individual!  Mar 9, 2009 (4 of 4 found this helpful)

Return on Sustainability is a well written and comprehensive account of sustainability, climate change, and their relevance to individuals and corporations alike. Wilhelm lays out the facts about climate change and then quickly brings us to a place of hope with and action with tangible data and real-world examples. The book is incredibly well researched and presents data and references to back up every point that is made. This is not a fluffy environmental-activism book, but is a down-to-earth account of conducting business in our current worldly circumstances and it includes the hard numbers to back it all up. This book is a must read for every executive, owner, employee or individual who wants their business to still exist 10 years from now.

  • Rating Well organized handbook for businesses on how to deal with climate change  Apr 16, 2009 (2 of 2 found this helpful)

A well written, easy to read, down-to-earth guidebook for companies looking for a roadmap of how to take steps to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. For companies that haven't made any moves in this direction, this book makes a compelling case for why it will be necessary soon: not only are all levels of government exploring different means of carbon regulation, investors and insurers are already taking a closer look at each company's ability to operate in a sustainable manner. This book will help your business stay ahead of the game when it comes to operating in the new, reduced-carbon world.

  • Rating A business plan for a better planet  Mar 23, 2009 (2 of 2 found this helpful)

This book couldn't be more timely or relevant. If you want to cut costs, grow revenue and make the world a better place, read this book.

  • Rating Want positive change in your organization? Equip yourself with this book!  May 20, 2009 (1 of 1 found this helpful)

Return on Sustainability is a 'cut to the chase' kind of book. We are in dire need of a business perspective on the carbon-based economy that will define our future. This book is great for anyone because it has everything from actions, to strategic goals and designing a solid case for change within your organization. I find its pragmatic approach to sustainable business a valuable source for ideas and inspiration. Give it to your CEO, manager, school principal, or favorite local business. Everyone will love it!

  • Rating Great guide for sustainability practitioners  May 12, 2009 (1 of 1 found this helpful)

This is a very focused book that lays out practical things every business can do starting tomorrow to address business issues (esp. risk) related to global climate change, and to realize the business opportunities for innovation, competitive advantage and profit that can result. It's not theoretical, and it doesn't assume that you need convincing that the world has changed and business should change with it. Instead, it lays out with clarity what the opportunities and options are for real businesses. It's a quick read, but densely packed with good information. A nice, readable addition to the "canon" of sustainability.
