Product Description

Mr. Ben Sanders has gone missing and his infatuated student Brenda is determined to find him. She and Ben's friend Tim are concerned his disappearance has something to do with the screams that came from a house on Denison Street and the mutilated bodies that are popping up all over town.

Things are about to become more complex in Brenda's life. She uses the "skills" she has learned from being the community Peeping Tom to play detective and piece together clues to hopefully create a map to Ben's location.

During the search for Ben, Brenda & Tim come face to face with seedy characters wandering the streets at night; drugs dealers, prostitutes and oh yes, all those dead bodies.

Who is this maniac running loose on the streets at night? Why does he do it? What does he want?

Brenda and Tim will find out soon enough.

  • Rating Exactly what you would expect from a vanity press.  Dec 16, 2009

Night School is easily one of the worst books I've ever tried reading. I say "tried" because I was unable to stomach more than 100 pages. The prose is so poorly written that I simply couldn't bring myself to continue. His characters are so utterly unbelievable that one could argue they are mocking themselves for being in such a bad novel. Mr. Schwamberger also seems to have forgotten everything he learned about the English language he has presumably spoken and written his entire life. His sentence structure is so clunky and awkward and his spelling so bad that I was embarrassed to read the novel and hoped nobody would catch me in the act of doing so. To be fair, there is a disclaimer at the front of Night School, claiming the book never went through the editorial process (which should be obvious to even a casual reader). Nevertheless, neither Mr. Schwamberger nor PublishAmerica did themselves any favors by printing this sad attempt to mimic Richard Laymon (who must be spinning in his grave). This book is a prime example of why aspiring writers should avoid PublishAmerica at all costs: costs being the key word. For the same amount of money PublishAmerica expects you to pay for this travesty, you could buy 2 or 3 books from authors and publishers who know what they're doing.

  • Rating A raw and risque tale of terror  Jan 10, 2009 (1 of 2 found this helpful)

A voyeur cheerleader wanders the quiet streets alone at night because she has a serious case of hot-for-teacher. But Ben Sanders, the source of her puppy love, has problems of his own. The science teacher and a drifter named Tim have teamed up to find the source of the screams coming from Denison Street. The tortured and disemboweled body that they find inside a darkened house is beyond comprehension. This is "Night School," a classic drive-in style horror story sizzling with modern pulp fiction sensibilities. Ripe with interesting, well-developed characters, the novel carries the reader through the tale of terror, through the rising body count, to the chilling end.

  • Rating Suspenseful novel  Mar 31, 2009 (0 of 1 found this helpful)

Night School, by Ty Schwamberger, is a thrilling, suspenseful novel about a small group of friends and their encounters with a madman. When Bloomridge, Ohio high school teacher Ben Sanders is abducted mysteriously, prize pupil Brenda and new best friend Tim must work to find him before it's too late. Along the way, the unlikely pair must contend with muggers, prostitutes and the other unsavory characters that nightly inhabit the Bloomridge streets. It truly is a daunting task for the duo to survive long enough to find Ben and rescue him from the most horrifying ordeal of his life.
