  • Rating THE travel book  Jan 15, 2008 (6 of 6 found this helpful)

Was given this book as a gift for my trip to Paris. It was THE book I kept on me at all times. An indispensible tool for the travler who likes to travel light. The maps, broken down in areas, were great for walking the often complex Paris streets. Blank sheets to jot down addresses of that special restarurant or patisserie. Smaller note sheets to tear out after using them, say, for metro directions. A small pocket for ticket stubs. A truly useful tool for getting around. Going to Rome later this year and will get the Rome version. Another bonus, you can give your book to friends after you use it so they can benefit from your notes and book info. It does not have destination information, so you'll have to use another book for that, like Eyewitness Travel (good also). So get out there!

  • Rating What's not to love?  Aug 28, 2008 (2 of 2 found this helpful)

Excellent in all respects. I'm so happy Moleskine is back! I can now leave my Petit Plan de Paris at home, except for the more extensive stays. I love having maps and travel notes all in one place. The maps are gridded by areas and easy to navigate by using the street index, and since they are sectioned off by page, it is a very discreet way to use a map - even when I find myself lost. I tape biz cards of interesting places or restaurants to the inside pages and add notes and numbers or info. Also helpful, the elastic band to keep any loose papers in. All this is bundled in a hard bound and durable discreet black book.

  • Rating great tool!  Jul 1, 2009 (1 of 1 found this helpful)

The Metro map turned out to be the greatest asset...that is, in addition to the handy pouch for receipts at the back. And the street index was invaluable. I was able to navigate to a wide variety of addresses in the city without any problems. The notebook is small enough to fit in a raincoat pocket and does not weigh you down. Don't visit without it.

  • Rating great DIY travel book  Dec 12, 2008 (1 of 1 found this helpful)

I spent a month in Paris with this notebook, and used it every day. The maps are great and the tabbed pages are useful when you need to find something. I also liked the three fabric page markers, so you can have one at a map, one on a blank note page, and one on the tabbed page item you're trying to get to. The only slight problem I had was my front cover came unglued, but I taped it together and it held up fine after that.
I really liked having an all-in-one reference that doesn't scream TOURIST!

  • Rating Paris City Book by Moleskine  Mar 9, 2008 (3 of 4 found this helpful)

The city book series by Moleskine is very compact and useful. It is small enough to fit in my purse and has a wonderful city maps section that is very useful. I love these city books. I want them to add more cities!
