Celebrated for her beauty and wit, she supported the Independence movement. She had 3 husbands and 7 children and was famous for her beauty and charm. She is said to have had affairs with Boli var, Humboldt, Iturbide, and Canon Jose Mariano Beristein and was described by Frances Calderon de la Barca as: "A very remarkable character, well known here by the name of La Guera (the fair) Rodriguez, said to have been many years ago celebrated by Humboldt as the most beautiful woman he had seen in the whole course of his travels.
