Die ersten Wei en, die S dafrika besiedelten waren die Niederl nder: seit dem ersten Aufeinandertreffen von Wei en und Schwarzen in S dafrika entstand bereits eine elementare Trennungsstruktur. Mit den ersten Funden von Diamanten und Gold im Jahr 1652 wurde die Rassentrennungspolitik in S dafrika stringent kontinuierlich intensiviert. Die Niederl ndisch-ostindische Kompagnie unterschied bereits am Ende des 17. Jahrhunderts zwischen eigenen Angestellten, zweitens sog. Freien ( freie burgher"), drittens Sklaven und viertens Fremden (Kohikoi = Hottentotten, San=Buschm nner). Dabei wurde das Land ausschlie lich von Wei en bewirtschaftet und die Handwerksausbildung f r Schwarze und Eingeborene unm glich gemacht.Bei dem Zeitraum von 1910 bis 1948 spricht man von der sog. Segregation Era, in dem die Apartheid entscheidend ausgestaltet wurde. 1961 trat S dafrika aus dem Commonwealth aus und kam so dem Ausschluss aus dem Commonwealth zuvor.Bereits vor Beginn des Zweiten Weltkriegs trennten mehrere Gesetze die verschiedenen rassischen Gruppen S dafrikas, gerade die Wei en und die Schwarzen, noch bevor der Begriff Apartheid" in die Diskussion in S dafrika gelangte.Im Mai 1948 gewann die burische Nationale Partei des Predigers Daniel Fran ois Malan die Wahlen zum s dafrikanischen Parlament. Diese Organisation stand ma geblich unter dem Einfluss der Afrikaaner Broederbonds, einem um 1918 gegr ndeten Geheimbund, dem nur Mitglieder der burischen Elite (Gro agrarier, Unternehmer, Politiker, Professoren etc.) angeh ren durften und dessen
