I found the book wonderful in explaining how a relationship starts out feeling OK, shows promise, moves to feeling like somebody understands you and cares, but then slowly you're puzzled because it has started turning around and you find that you are being painted as some kind of unreasonable monster or unstable person.The person that you have a relationship with is a control freak and a master manipulator.This book explains how it happens and why it is emotional abuse.If you're wondering how your self-esteem got so low, this book goes far with explaining how it's not you. Forewarned is forearmed. This book also tells how you recognize these individuals so you do not fall into their traps.I highly recommend.
