The four tales crackle with Russo's perceptive wit and unwavering compassion for the human condition. Each of the four volumes is paired with a small, full-color print of a painting by Kate Russo. Someone needs to tell Russo to drop the politesse: An e-book is not a book. As Chris Ware ("Building Stories") has pointed out, "sometimes it is reassuring, perhaps even necessary, to have something to hold on to", which is what the book does better than any other new media.
