Mary Lou and Jumpy are excitedly awaiting the arrival of Mr. Bump who has an unusual delivery for them. Mr. Bump arrives loaded down with boxes as he unloads each box, he and the kids start exhibiting strange behavior: laughter, crying, sadness, fright, joy, etc. Mr. Bump has lost the delivery card and Mary Lou is curious about these boxes and why they are causing such responses. The delivery card is found and Mr. Bump announces that the boxes are "mood boxes" and that all the feelings were released when the lids came off the boxes.
Mary Lou ends with the message that while our feelings can be very powerful, they are a natural part of growing x2026; sometimes we are happy, sometimes we are sad, sometimes all in the same day She encourages children to talk about their feelings with someone. With their Mom or Dad, or a teacher or other grown-up friend so that they might be able to understand their feelings.
