Comments about Scapegoat: The Chino Hills Murders and the Framing of Kevin Cooper:
One cannot believe all the mistakes made in this case could ever add up to any kind of justice. As surely as the Ryans are victims in this horrendous homicide, so is Kevin Cooper, who has now been on California's death row for over a quarter century while the investigation, trial and representation in his case was riddled with racism, ineffective assistance of counsel, witness tampering, evidence tampering and outright destruction, at times you have to wonder if this is a novel or this could possibly be someone's real life. Give this man a new trial and some real justice. What a book, and thank you P. O'Conner for writing it - talk about crime being better than fiction.
