Comments about Into Thin Air: A Personal Account of the Mount Everest Disaster:
A very good book, and well constructed. By the end of it, you will know all about many key figures in the top of the mountaineering world - you will learn about them and their character, bravery and achievements. You will know about high altitude climbing, and the many risks involved. And also, you will be hunted by the horrible loss of lives - of great, brave, daring people. The book opened a door in me I did not know existed. I couldn't stop thinking about this story long after finishing it, and searched extensively about the 96' disaster online. I do think the book doesn't talk enough about the fact that Rob Hall was the one person who could have possibly prevented this disaster. He died heroically during it and maybe this is the reason, but as oppose to others - I think he had the biggest share of responsibly for it...
